About Us Our Purpose
Our Purpose: The purpose of Desert Hills Baptist Church is to glorify God through His Son, Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church, in the power of the Holy Spirit. We accomplish this through the biblical means of:
Evangelism - This is the presentation of the Gospel in a clear faithful way so that our communities, both local and worldwide, may come to a personal acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. We encourage evangelism through:
- Personal Evangelism
- Corporate Evangelism
- Servant Evangelism
- Missions
Edification - This is the practice of bringing people up to maturity in Christ. We encourage edification through:
- Prayer –As an essential for every meeting, activity, and home
- Relationships –Through Small Groups and Activities
- Instruction –Including discipleship, preaching and teaching, and special training times
- Service –In the Local Body, and to our community
- Management- of our time, talents, and earthly treasures
Exaltation - This is the practice of leading people to experience communion with God, which leads to an awareness of His holiness, majesty and grace. We encourage exaltation through:
- Personal Worship –Through a personal walk with the Lord
- Family Worship –Through weekly family altar
- Corporate Worship-Through the Services and Conferences at DHBC
- Community Witness –Through other people seeing that God is changing us to become more like Jesus Christ
