Visiting any church, especially a new one, for the very first time can be a tough experience. Where to go? What to wear? What time to show up? What's here for my kids? What can I expect? These and many more questions surface. Well, we want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Desert Hills Baptist will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and "at home" and “Experience New Beginnings” with us! Here are a few answers to your questions and what you might expect on your first visit.

1. Finding Us

You can't miss our location on Sunday Mornings at the Jasinski Elementary School 4280 S. 246th Ave., in Buckeye.   You should recognize our signs on the corner of Miller Broadway, and right in front of the school.  As you pull up to the school campus you will be directed toward the main entrance to the school, and from there greeters will direct you to the multi-purpose room where the main service is held, and the ancillary rooms where we have child development (nursery), and children’s classes.

2.What’s Available for our Children?

Starting with excellent child development (nursery), there is something special for every age child from birth through sixth grade!  At every service on Sunday morning there is safe, clean, and highly staffed child development care for those two years of age and younger. For the infants, mothers will receive a notification so that the nursery attendants can easily contact you if there is a need. For children three years old through sixth grade there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child.

3. What Are the Services Like?

Sunday mornings, you can participate in encouraging and uplifting music, as well as enjoy inspiring music from soloists and special groups. The music is always followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Pastor Zamora. Each service is just a little over one hour in length.
We also have a Sunday evening service (completely different from Sunday morning) that begins at 5:00 p.m. Again, in this service you'll enjoy the special music as well as a challenging and helpful message from Pastor Zamora. We also meet on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. for a mid-week Bible study & Discipleship Training. If you can't be our guest on Sunday morning, we hope you'll visit with us during another service time.

4. Do You Offer Small Groups?

Starting at the end of 2007 we will lay the groundwork for our Life Group Classes.  These are classes that will be held before our morning service on Sunday.   They will meet a need that people have for Fellowship, Identity, and personal Bible Study.
On Wednesday Nights we offer Discipleship training which is foundational Bible Study through 26 lessons. These lessons will further each Christian’s knowledge about the Bible, Doctrine, and Practical living.  This training is done person-to-person, couple to couple, or at the most several couples with one teacher.  This time takes place after a short Bible study from Pastor Zamora.
On Wedneday Mornings we offer  “Mom-Time”.  A time where moms can share burdens, childcare, and a Bible Lesson that is geared to encourage, and uplift each lady as they deal with the blessings, and challenges of being Mom.
On Saturday Evenings we offer the Higher Ground Prayer Group.  This is a time for Men to come together to encourage, and help one another through Corporate Prayer.

5. How Should I Dress?

There is not a dress code at Desert Hills Baptist for members or guests.  Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Desert Hills Baptist!

6. Am I Expected to Participate in the Offering?

No. We don't invite you to Desert Hills Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God's Word, and a place where you can grow in God's grace. Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
If there's something we missed on this list, just give us a call at623.202.2822, or ask someone when you arrive. Whether you're new to the area and looking for a church home, or if it's been a long time since you've attended church at all, we hope your first visit at Desert Hills Baptist will be awesome! We exist to serve you and your family, and we are looking forward to meeting you personally. We hope you'll feel right at home from the very first moment you step on the campus! Let us know how we can serve you better, and we hope to meet you this Sunday!
